23M national IDs issued so far — PhilSys
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has dispatched 23 million physical versions of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) identification cards, an official said Wednesday.
According to PhilSys Registry Division officer-in-charge Marc Laurente, the PSA has also produced 30.3 million ID cards.
“From our facilities na gumagawa ng card, we were able to produce 30.3 million already and were able to deliver through our courier sa PhilPost po na 23 million na ID cards,” he said during the public briefing.
Meanwhile, he said they have also released 19 million ePhilIDs.
According to Laurente, a total of 76.2 million Filipinos have also completed step 2 of the registration.
He said the PSA seeks to release a total of 92 million national IDs for 2023.
“Ang PSA po ay patuloy na nakikipag ugnayan sa ating mga kasamahan sa gobyerno, ‘yung ating sa BSP, sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, at sa PhilPost upang mapataas pa ‘yung ating productivity para din po mabigyan natin ng IDs ‘yung ating mga kababayan na nangangailangan,” he said.
