Marcos on Arroyo's 76th birthday: Thank you for your guidance

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed gratitude to former President and Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as he greeted Arroyo on her 76th birthday.

In a video message on Wednesday, Marcos mentioned Arroyo's guidance and assistance in his political career. 

"I would like to extend a very grateful and very joyful happy birthday to former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. I cannot do this greeting without mentioning all the help, assistance, and guidance that you have provided in all of the things that we have been doing and there are many things that I cannot imagine we would not [have] been able to do if not for your advice and your guidance on many of these very important issues," Marcos said.

"So thank you very much for that, President GMA, and I’ll just add a very, very happy birthday," Marcos added.

Arroyo backed Marcos and his running mate and now Vice President Sara Duterte during the 2022 national elections.

Arroyo once said Marcos had "projected himself well as a calm, thoughtful leader who is true to his promise to promote unity and be a president for all." —Anna Felicia Bajo/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
