DOH reports 2,065 new COVID-19 cases; active tally hits 15,527


The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,065 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, while the active tally increased to 15,527.
 
The fresh cases brought the nationwide caseload to 4,113,093.
 
The number of active cases went up to 15,527 from 15,114 on Friday, marking the second straight day with more than 15,000 active cases recorded.
 
Meanwhile, the recovery tally also rose to 4,031,113, while the death toll stayed at 66,453.
 
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region posted the highest number of new cases with 8,699, followed by Calabarzon with 4,610, Central Luzon with 1,485, Western Visayas with 1,034, and the Bicol Region with 714.

Quezon City had the highest number of new cases among cities and provinces with 2,037, followed by Cavite with 1,519, Rizal with 1,416, Manila with 989, and Laguna with 966.
 
As of Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 20.1%, with 5,014 occupied and 19,991 vacant beds.
 
A total of 7,638 individuals were tested on Friday, and 312 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
