BuCor releases 267 PDLs


The Bureau of Correction (BuCor) on Monday released 267 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from various prisons and penal farms.

Data by BuCor showed that 128 of the released PDLs were from the New Bilibid Prison, 44 from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm, 40 from the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, and 22 from the Correctional Institution for Women.

Of those released, 124 were also on parole, 39 were acquitted, seven were granted probation, one was on cash bond, while the remaining served their maximum sentence.

The culminating program was attended by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, BuCor officer-in-charge Gregorio Catapang, Public Attorney’s chief Persida Acosta, and Senator Imee Marcos. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
