DOH logs 1,795 new COVID-19 cases; active tally down to 16,196


The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday logged 1,795 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally went down to 16,196.

This came a day after 2,001 COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday.
 
The DOH said the nationwide COVID-19 tally is currently at 4,137,440, while the number of active infections dropped to 16,196 from 16,314 on Friday.
 
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery tally increased to 4,054,778, while the death toll remained at 66,466.
 
Among the regions with the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 8,727, followed by Calabarzon with 5,471, Central Luzon with 2,250, Western Visayas with 1,552, and Bicol Region with 956.

The Health Department said 5,681 beds were occupied while 19,528 were vacant, as the bed occupancy rate in the country stood at 22.5% on Friday.

A total of 7,192 individuals were tested, and 310 testing laboratories submitted data. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
