Marcos condoles with kin of late Negros Oriental Gov. Reyes

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Negros Oriental Governor Carlo Jorge Joan “Guido” Reyes who died on Wednesday.

"We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Negros Oriental Governor Carlo Jorge Joan “Guido” Reyes on May 31," Marcos said in a tweet.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of the province he served so faithfully. May his legacy continue to inspire and his memory be cherished," he added.

Provincial administrator Karen Lisette Molas announced the death of Reyes after receiving a call from Guihulngan City Vice Mayor Eunica Reyes.

Molas, however, said she was not authorized by the bereaved family to disclose further details regarding Reyes’ illness and death.

On March 4, Reyes assumed the province’s highest post after Governor Roel Degamo was killed in an attack in Pamplona town.
