PNP: Alleged memo on ‘World War 3’ preparations fake

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said the alleged circulating  memorandum containing some “re-proposed measures” in preparation for the “3rd World War” is fake.

“Walang signature e. Wala rin control number. By the looks alone, mukhang di official…Yes (this is fake) walang pirma eh…Walang ganyan document from [Office of The Chief Directorial Staff],” PNP public information office chief Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan told reporters in a message.

(It has no signature. It also has no control number.. By the looks alone, it seems unofficial. Yes, this is fake, it has no signature. There is no such document from the OTCDS)

The memorandum pertains to the letter supposedly from National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Guiling Mamondiong suggesting measures to strengthen the internal and external defense of the Philippines in preparation for World War 3.

These measures include the following:

  • enlisting as reservists in the military the combatants of the Moro National Liberation Front, Moro Islamic Liberation Front, and the Cotabato Revolutionary Command including all other armed groups who are supporting the Marcos Presidency

  • mobilizing all the Reserved Officers Training Corps to undergo military and police training to form part of the National Guards

  • mobilizing at least five million citizens to compose the National Guards from the civilian populace

Recipients of the memorandum were asked to provide comments, inputs, and recommendations on the proposed measures.

They were also asked to submit their actions taken to the Directorate For Human Resource And Doctrine Development.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
