Philippines records 1,102 new COVID-19 cases
A total of 1,102 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the Philippines on Friday, pushing the nationwide caseload to 4,153,312, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed.
The country's active cases fell slightly to 12,094, while the recovery tally jumped to 4,074,737.
No new deaths were recorded, as the country’s death toll remained at 66,481.
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region had the highest number of new cases with 4,807, followed by Calabarzon with 3,424, Central Luzon with 2,216, Western Visayas with 1,409, and Cagayan Valley with 1,017.
Among cities and provinces, Quezon City topped the list with 1,210 new cases, followed by Cavite with 1,149, Iloilo with 835, Bulacan with 796, and Laguna with 766.
A total of 6,785 individuals were tested on Thursday, and 321 testing laboratories submitted data.
As of Thursday, the national bed occupancy rate was 20%, with 5,000 occupied and 20,043 vacant beds. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
