NCR COVID-19 positivity rate decreased to 11.6% — OCTA
The COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has further decreased to 11.6%, according to the independent monitoring group OCTA Research on Monday.
OCTA research fellow Dr. Guido David said NCR’s seven-day testing positivity rate — the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested — decreased from 16.7% as of June 3 to 11.6% as of June 10.
David, however, noted that the COVID-19 positivity rates in Cagayan, Camarines Sur, La Union, Oriental Mindoro, Pampanga, and Tarlac increased.
According to data from OCTA, the positivity rate in Aklan further increased from 50% to 54.3%.
“Upticks were observed in Aklan (very high positivity rate), Negros Occidental, South Cotabato,” David said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Leyte’s positivity rate decreased from 21% to 17% while the positivity rate in Davao del Sur remained low at 3.5% from 4.6%.
As of Sunday, the Philippines has recorded a total of 4,155,031 COVID-19 cases, of which 66,481 has died and 11,202 remain active. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
