Based on CAAP’s Initial Post-Hazard Assessment and Damage Report, no damage were reported in Calapan Airport, Clark Tower, Jomalig Airport, Lubang Airport, Mamburao Airport, Pinamalayan Airport, Sangley Airport, San Jose Airport, and Subic Tower Airport.

San Jose Airport in Mindoro promptly executed the earthquake drill procedure during the earthquake, marking all employees safe, and the building and equipment have not sustained any major damage.

The quake, which also had a depth of 119 kilometers, was also felt in parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Damage and aftershocks are expected following the earthquake, according to PHIVOLCS.

“With [damage] and aftershocks expected following the earthquake, the CAAP Operations Center shall continue to closely monitor activity in all its airports and facilities,” CAAP said.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Batangas is also still conducting an assessment to determine if the quake had damaged any infrastructure. —Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
