Philippines records 532 new COVID-19 cases
The Philippines logged 532 new coronavirus infections on Friday, pushing the country's active cases to 8,580.
Data from the Department of Health showed that the nationwide caseload jumped to 4,161,767 while total recoveries climbed to 4,086,705.
The country’s death toll remained at 66,482, marking the sixth straight day of no new deaths.
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region had the highest number of cases with 1,959, followed by Central Luzon with 1,289, Calabarzon with 1,224, Western Visayas with 782, and Cagayan Valley with 566.
Among cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the highest number of new cases in the past 14 days with 489, followed by Iloilo with 450, Cavite with 421, Bulacan with 350, and Pampanga with 316.
A total of 6,433 individuals were tested on Thursday, and 313 testing laboratories submitted data.
As of Thursday, the national bed occupancy rate was 17.8%, with 4,475 occupied and 20,660 vacant beds. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
