PH logs 319 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 6,945


The Philippines registered 319 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed. 

This brought the nationwide caseload to 4,65,076 cases. The active cases, however, decreased to 6,945, marking the lowest number recorded since May 2.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 recoveries also climbed to 4,091,647 and the death toll stayed at 66,484. 

In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) has had the highest number of cases with 1,478, followed by Central Luzon with 1,998, Calabarzon with 853, Western Visayas with 544, and Cagayan Valley with 475.

In cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 358, Iloilo with 295, Cavite with 287, Bulacan with 253, and Pampanga with 211.

On Friday, 6,267 individuals were tested, while 308 testing labs submitted data.

The COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 16.4%, with 4,053 occupied and 20,659 vacant on June 30. —Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
