Philippines logs 397 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 6,637


 

A total of 397 new coronavirus infections were recorded by the Department of Health on Friday, pushing the active cases to 6,637.

This marks the seventh straight day of more than 6,000 but less than 7,000 active infections, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

Based on the latest bulletin, the nationwide caseload is now at 4,167,259. Total recoveries climbed by 531 to 4,094,138, the highest new recoveries in six days.

Meanwhile, the country’s death toll remained at 66,484, marking the ninth straight day of no new deaths.

In the past two weeks, National Capital Region (NCR) had the highest number of cases with 1,176, Central Luzon with 805, Calabarzon with 675, Western Visayas with 422, and Cagayan Valley with 389.

In cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 309, Cavite with 214, Iloilo with 187, Bulacan with 184, and Cagayan with 179.
