PH registers 294 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 6,029


The Department of Health recorded 294 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,169,361.

Data from the DOH’s latest bulletin showed that the current number of active cases was 6,029, a slight drop from the 6,132 cases recorded on Wednesday.

The total recoveries climbed to 4,096,824, while the country’s death toll also increased to 66,508.

The National Capital Region (NCR) had the highest number of cases in two weeks, with 889, followed by Central Luzon with 712, Calabarzon with 544, Western Visayas with 412, and Ilocos Region with 350.

Among the cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 228, Iloilo with 182, Cavite with 169, Bulacan with 156, and Nueva Ecija with 149.

A total of 4,953 individuals were tested on Thursday, while 312 testing labs submitted data.

As of July 13, the current bed occupancy was 15.7%, with 3,814 occupied and 20,550 vacant. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
