Philippines' 133 new COVID-19 cases lowest in 4 months
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday recorded 133 new COVID-19 infections, the lowest in four months.
The active cases stood at 4,842, also lowest in almost three months.
The nationwide caseload now totals 4,171,956.
There were 617 new recoveries reported, bringing the total to 4,100,572.
Meanwhile, the country's death remained at 66,466, with no new deaths recorded in three days.
The National Capital Region had the highest number of cases in the past two weeks with 661; Central Luzon with 446; Calabarzon with 402; the Ilocos Region with 227; and Western Visayas with 237.
Among the provinces and cities, Quezon City had the most cases for two weeks with 153, followed by Ilocos Norte with 120, Iloilo with 109, Rizal with 109, and Cavite with 107.
A total of 4,904 individuals were tested on July 24 in 311 testing labs. The cumulative positivity rate was recorded at 13.5%.
The current bed occupancy is 15.1%, with 3,608 occupied and 20,344 vacant.
