1 hurt in Navy headquarters fire - report
MANILA, Philippines - A man was hurt after a fire hit the Philippine Navy Headquarters along Roxas Boulevard in Manila on Friday, initial radio reports said. The report said that the fire broke out inside a quarter at the fourth floor of the Navy headquarters but was immediately put out. Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Caculitan, Navy spokesman, was quoted as saying that the fire could have stemmed from faulty electrical wiring. A janitor working at the Navy headquarters, identified as Ronald Dalit, got hurt while he was sleeping inside the said room. He was rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila and is undergoing medical treatment for his minor injuries, the report added. Earlier in the day, two separate fire incidents in Pasay and Paranaque cities resulted to the death of two people and the devastation of around 100 shanties. - Mark Merueñas, GMANews.TV
