Philippines posts 122 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines registered 122 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,108,770.

Based on the Department of Health’s latest bulletin, there are 3,055 active cases in the country.  The total recoveries rose to 4,039,061.

The death toll remained at 66,654 on Thursday, with no new recorded deaths.

Among the cities and provinces, NCR had the most cases with 397, Calabarzon with 227, Central Luzon with 182, Davao Region with 125, and Western Visayas with 96 cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,719 individuals were tested as of August 16 under 302 testing labs.

The bed occupancy is at 13.6% with 3,091 occupied and 19,711 vacant.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
