Marcos declares Sept. 11, 2023 special non-working day in Ilocos Norte

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has declared September 11, 2023 as a special non-working day in the province of Ilocos Norte to mark the 106th birth anniversary of his father, late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

By authority of the President, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Proclamation No. 327 on August 23.

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Ilocos Norte be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration," the Proclamation read.

Last year, the First Family, together with former First Lady Imelda Marcos, attended a mass to commemorate the 105th birth anniversary of the former president at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.

Marcos had also conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the family’s longtime supporters who paid their respects to his father.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
