BARMM, military bring relief to Tawi-Tawi fire victims
The Bangsamoro government with the help of the Armed Forces of the Philippines have brought relief assistance to the victims of the fire that hit four areas in Barangay Poblacion in Bongao, Tawi-tawi.
The relief drive was coordinated Naval Forces Western Mindanao Commander Rear Admiral Donn Anthony Miraflor, Bangsamoro Member of Parliaments Jet Lim and Suharto Ambolodto, who is also a member of the Naval Forces Reserve-Western Mindanao, and Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali.
The aid arrived on Sept. 11 through the BRP Ivatan that carried relief supplies, including essential items such as 1,250 sleeping kits, 250 dignity kits, 1,250 hygiene kits, 4,636 food packs, 1000 family kits, and 150 modular tents.
It also brought 1,000 boxes of family packs (non-food items), 129 boxes of medicines, 50 plastic tables, five boxes of assorted clothes, and four sacks of assorted goods.
The MSSD has earlier responded by providing 664 families relief goods composed of 10 kilograms of rice, welfare goods, and trapal, on top of an emergency cash assistance of P2,000 to each family. Approximately 1,000 families were affected by the fire, according to MSSD. Assessment and profiling are still ongoing. —NB, GMA Integrated News
