PH, Bangladesh eye defense cooperation through training, education
The Philippines and Bangladesh are considering forging a defense cooperation in the fields of training and education.
The topic was discussed during the courtesy call of Brigadier General Kazi Anisuzzaman, directing staff Army-6 of Bangladesh's National Defense College, on Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) deputy chief of staff for education, training and doctrine Major General Noel Beleran in Camp Aguinaldo on Wednesday.
"We are planning to establish our defense cooperation and our shared responsibility through education and training in pursuit of a more stable Indo-Pacific," Beleran said in a news release on Thursday.
Also discussed during the courtesy call were the AFP's courses and exchange programs and its plans to continue working with allies in terms of education and training.
"We need you and we need our brothers beside us. We value your country," Anisuzzaman said for his part, as he expressed his hopes of "increasing connectivity" with partner nations.
The National Defense College of Bangladesh is currently on its Study Tour Visit to the Philippines with the intention of sharing and exchanging views on both countries' challenges and development strategies. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
