NPO finishes printing of 92M ballots for 2023 BSKE

A total of 92,054,974 official ballots have been printed by the National Printing Office for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

On Thursday, the NPO turned over the certification of completion of the printing of BSKE manual ballots as well as other accountable forms to the Commission on Elections.

"This is to certify that the National Printing Office has already concluded the printing of the official manual ballots and other forms in connection to the October 30, 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in accordance with the technical specification, requirements, quantities, and timelines of the Commission on Elections," NPO Director IV Renato Acosta said.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,092,147 official ballots for the October 30 plebiscite to ratify the conversion of the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan into a highly-urbanized city were also printed.

In August, the poll body suspended the printing of the election ballots for the 2023 BSKE following a power service interruption at the NPO.

The campaign period for the 2023 BSKE will run from October 19 to October 28.

The BSKE will be held on October 30.

Based on Comelec data, there are currently 92 million voters in the country, where 68 million are set to vote for the barangay elections, while 24 million will vote for the SK elections. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
