Philippines records 168 new COVID-19 cases
The Philippines registered 168 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,113,222, the Department of Health said.
The DOH's COVID-19 tracker shows that the tally of active cases increased slightly to 2,838, while recoveries rose by 101 cases to 4,043,689.
The country’s confirmed death toll stayed at 66,695.
The National Capital Region was the region that recorded the most new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks with 727, followed by Calabarzon with 297, Central Luzon with 189, the Davao Region with 148, and Soccsksargen with 93 cases.
Among cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks with 166, followed by Rizal province with 109, Cavite province with 92, Bulacan province with 89, and Davao City with 85.
DOH said 3,661 individuals were tested on Wednesday, and 294 testing labs submitted data.
Current COVID-19 bed occupancy is 14.6%, with 3,075 occupied and 17,982 vacant. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
