Philippines logs 187 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines registered 187 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, according to the Department of Health.

This brought the nationwide caseload to 4,114,286, and the active cases to 2,931.

Meanwhile, the country's recovery tally rose to 4,044,659, with 123 new recoveries.

No new deaths were added, with the death toll staying at 66,696.

The region with the most recorded cases over the past 14 days was the National Capital Region with 859, followed by Calabarzon with 366, Central Luzon with 208, Davao Region with 158, and Soccsksargen with 113.

A total of 3,680 people were tested on Tuesday, and 300 testing laboratories submitted data.

As of Tuesday, the national bed occupancy rate was 15%, with 3,112 occupied and 17,568 vacant beds. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
