Philippines logs 187 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines on Monday logged 187 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,116,509.

Active cases rose by seven to 3,062, the highest tally in 34 days, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

The Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracker also reported that recoveries rose by 788 to 4,046,745, while the death toll remains at 66,702.

The National Capital Region is the region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 989, followed by Calabarzon with 377, Central Luzon with 202, Davao Region with 163, and Soccsksargen with 110.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City logged the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 256, followed by Rizal province with 126, Cavite province with 118, Bulacan province with 99, and the City of Manila with 93.

As of Saturday, 2,079 individuals were tested, and 249 testing labs submitted data.

COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 15.7%, with 3,164 occupied and 17,013 vacant. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
