Philippines logs 165 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines confirmed 165 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the country's total cases since the start of the pandemic to 4,118,022.

The Department of Health's COVID-19 tracker also said that active cases increased by 38 to 2,975, while recoveries rose by 127 cases to 4,048,333.

The death toll remains at 66,714 for the fifth straight day, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

The region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days is the National Capital Region with 965, followed by Calabarzon with 417, Central Luzon with 207, Davao Region with 153, and Soccsksargen with 107.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City reported the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 259, followed by Rizal province with 144, Cavite province with 131, Bulacan province with 109, and Laguna province with 99.

COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 15.3%, with 3,125 beds occupied—including 2,002 in the ICU—and 18,436 vacant. — BM, GMA Integrated News
