NBI charges 50 auto-trading company employees with forgery, estafa
The National Bureau of Investigation charged over 50 employees of a Quezon City auto-trading company with Computer-related Forgery, Estafa, and Syndicated Estafa last October 13.
According to a statement released by NBI on Friday, a total of 56 different complainants alleged that the company had been offering vehicles and motorcycles below the suggested retail price with options for lower monthly installment options for auto-financing or loans online.
The NBI also claimed that complainants were required to obtain approved loans from other vehicle dealers beforehand, after which they will be required to pay 50% of their chosen vehicle with 30% being taken by the company and only 20% paid to the dealer.
The NBI alleged that the company had been operating through false advertising by acting as a financing company instead of a multi-franchise dealer, which was noted as inauthentic data that misled complainants into entering into a contract with the company.
