PH ranks 7th in fastest-growing 'remote work hub' list

The Philippines ranked 7th in the list of the fastest-growing remote work hubs in the world as released by the World Economic Forum based on the Nomad List.

The Nomad List is a platform where more than 10,000 members log where they are working.

The Presidential Communications Office said on Tuesday that based on tracking the country’s five-year growth from 2018 to 2022, the Philippines posted +78 percent growth.

Last year, it posted +1,183 percent growth.

The list showed that the destinations are ranked by growth rates of check-ins made by tens of thousands of Nomad list members using live data analyzing 299,498 check-ins.

The growth numbers gave travelers and workers an idea of the fastest-growing remote work hubs and also provided the current rank on the Nomad list so that they could gauge the popularity of the place.

Topping the list is Japan, followed by Da Nang, Vietnam, and Seoul, South Korea at third.

The list also includes Ljubljana, Slovenia at 10th place; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at 9th; Hanoi, Vietnam, at 8th; Montevideo, Uruguay, at 6th; Penang, Malaysia, at 5th; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at 4th.
