Gov't personnel to receive year-end bonus, cash gift starting Nov. 15 -DBM

Qualified government personnel will start receiving their year-end bonus and cash gift beginning Wednesday, November 15, 2023, according to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

The DBM said the year-end bonus is equivalent to one month basic pay as of October 31 while the cash gift is worth P5,000.

Those qualified to receive the bonus and cash gift are government personnel who have rendered at least four months of service from January 1 to October 31 of the current year and those who remain in the government service as of October 31, 2023.

In the case of the national government agencies, the DBM has allotted P45.3 billion for the year-end bonus of civilian personnel and P15.2 billion for the military or uniformed personnel.

Meanwhile, P8.9 billion was allocated for the cash gift of over 1.7 million civilian and military and uniformed personnel in national government agencies.

The DBM said the appropriations for the year-end bonus and cash gift were already comprehensively released to the concerned national government agencies at the start of the fiscal year.

“This is a well-deserved symbol of appreciation for our government workers, our heroes, who give their all for the country — those who walk the extra mile and spend longer work hours out of their sheer sense of public service," DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said in a statement on Wednesday.

"This is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to ensure that our government workers are given these rightful tokens for all their sacrifices that are greatly contributing to the reactivation of our economy,” she added.  —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/KBK, GMA Integrated News
