New 'Lupang Hinirang' video honors former VPs
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Wednesday launched an institutional video of the Philippine national anthem featuring all former vice presidents as well as the current Vice President Sara Duterte.
The video was released in commemoration of the OVP's 88th anniversary.
The “Lupang Hinirang” video featured all the 15 vice presidents of the Philippines from Sergio Osmeña Sr. to Sara Duterte.
“Maraming, maraming salamat. Nagpupugay po kami sa inyo,” said the caption in the video.
(Thank you very much. We salute you.)
Duterte said that for the OVP’s celebration of its 88th founding anniversary, they honor “the people who have made our institution what it is today.”
She said the past vice presidents “started, built, and strengthened” the OVP which is the second highest office in the government.
“Dahil sa kanilang sipag, talino, at matatag na pamumuno, naging mahalagang bahagi ng kasaysayan ng Pilipinas at ng buhay ng mga Pilipino ang OVP,” Duterte added.
(Because of their hard work, intelligence, and strong leadership, the OVP became an important part of Philippine history and the lives of Filipinos.)
The OVP also honored its employees who embodied excellent service over the years through the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE).
Employees with 10 years to 35 years of service with OVP were also given the Loyalty Incentive Award.
Duterte also called on all OVP employees to “reflect on the organization's successes and setbacks, with the goal of growing stronger as individuals, public servants, and Filipinos.”
“Kailangan po dito ay isang katatagan o tibay ng loob na susuporta sa inyong pagnanais na makapaglingkod,” she said.
(What is needed here is strength or fortitude that will support your desire to serve.)
“Your commitment is dependent on your tenacity. You cannot fully commit to public service if your spirit is weak,” she continued. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
