Police looking at some names possibly involved in Nueva Ecija bus shooting

Authorities are currently checking the identities of possible gunmen in the fatal shooting of a couple inside a bus in Nueva Ecija, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday.

In a press briefing, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said the bullet shell casings recovered from the crime scene matched with three previous incidents.

“Ito ngayon ang tinitignan natin na possibly behind din dito, particularly the two gunmen. Tinitignan natin na maaring sila rin po ang may kinalaman  dito sa dalawang biktima sa Victory Liner,” she said.

Fajardo said she cannot divulge any information on the matter yet.

The video of the shooting incident which was captured on a CCTV camera has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the gunmen can be seen shooting the two victims in the head and neck at close range.

The victims were identified as a 60-year old female from Cauayan, Isabela and a 55-year old male from South Cotabato.

Based on the police report, the bus was traversing a mountainous part of Barangay Minuli, Carranglan when the two gunmen shot the victims at 12:50 p.m. on November 15.

The police earlier tagged the son of the female victim as a possible person of interest .The son has denied involvement in the fatal shooting.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
