NDRRMC: 2 deaths reported, 985,733 affected due to shear line, LPA
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Saturday reported two people had died, while a person was confirmed to be injured, due to the combined effects of a shear line and a low-pressure area.
The NDRRMC also reported that the shear line and LPA had affected 985,733 individuals.
A total of 270 houses were damaged, with 255 partially damaged and 45 totally damaged.
Agricultural damage was valued at P38,596,838 with 1,571 affected fisherfolk and farmers.
Unpassable road sections climbed to 101 roads and nine bridge sections, while six seaports and two airports remained non-operational.
There were no stranded passengers, rolling cargo, vessels, and motorbancas as of the NDRRMC's latest report.
Meanwhile, 60 municipalities experienced power interruptions, while four localities had communication line interruptions, and one city's access to water supplies was affected.
Classes were suspended in 180 different municipalities and 32 have implemented work suspensions.
Distributed assistance to affected individuals has now added up to P62,421,399.87 - the majority of which was distributed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
