UST, UP-Cebu grads top licensure exam for teachers Elementary, HS levels

Two graduates from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) are the topnotchers for the September 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, Elementary level while a University of the Philippines-Cebu (UP-Cebu) graduate garnered the highest score for the Secondary (High School) level, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced.

Dulce Angeline Hernandez Arellano and Chelsea Lipana Tiaga shared the first place for the LEPT - Elementary level with a percentage rating of 94.40 while Trilbe Lizann Espina Vasquez gained the highest rating for the High School level.

A total of 23,782 elementary teachers out of 50,593 examinees or 47.01% and 53,995 secondary teachers out of 95,969 examinees or 56.26% successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (L. E. P. T.) given last September 24, 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand and in 40 testing centers all over the Philippines.

The PRC also announced that of the 23,782 elementary teacher passers, 16,716 are first timers

and 7,066 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 39,979 passers are first timers and

14,016 are repeaters.

Meanwhile, the top performing schools for the Elementary level are UST and Cebu Technological University-Argao while UST is the top school for the Secondary level. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
