Bato’s birthday wish: Good political career

For his 62nd birthday, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa is wishing for a good political career.

“Birthday wish ko? Good career, political career at maraming matutulungan na tao [and helping many people],” Dela Rosa, who celebrated his birthday on Sunday, January 21, said in a press conference Monday.

Dela Rosa is up for reelection in the Senate in the 2025 national and local elections.

In a previous interview with Senate reporters, Dela Rosa said “it is good” to clinch the top spot in pre-election surveys for the 2025 midterm polls, but that one must also “be realistic enough to accept that it’s very difficult to get that very much coveted ranking.”

Dela Rosa, who is facing an International Criminal Court investigation, earlier said that he does not see this probe into the Duterte administration’s drug war to be affecting his standing in the 2025 senatorial polls.

For him, he would “stay the course” and continue performing in the Senate, particularly in investigating public order-related matters.

Also on Monday, he called on the Marcos administration to confirm whether or not it has allowed ICC investigators into the country. — BM, GMA Integrated News
