Former senator loses P55K in valuables to burglars
MANILA, Philippines - Former senator Vicente Sotto III lost some P55,000 in cash and valuables to unidentified burglars who broke into his house in Quezon City, dzBB radio reported Wednesday. Sotto, who lodged a complaint before the Quezon City Police District Station 8, said there was no sign of forced entry in his house along Katipunan Avenue in Bgy. White Plains. He said the only sign of the burglars was an open window near the stairs leading to his bedroom. The television host said he lost a wallet with P5,000, five credit cards, two membership cards, an Apple iPhone worth P30,000, and a gold ring. Sotto ran under the administration TEAM Unity's Senate slate in 2007 but was defeated. He has since returned to hosting television programs. Before winning a Senate seat in 1992, Sotto served as Quezon City's vice mayor. - GMANews.TV
