With 'Ambo' out, temperatures to climb again - Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines - With tropical storm "Ambo" now out of Philippine territory, warmer days are due again in several key cities in the country, even as Metro Manila will be relatively "cooler" this weekend. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) indicated this in its four-day extended forecast covering Thursday to Sunday. Pagasa initially forecast a "scorcher" in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao cities, which it had said would experience high temperatures of 37 and 38 degrees respectively. But the passage of "Ambo," which brought rains and winds, tamed the summer heat at least for a few days. In its 5 a.m. advisory Wednesday, Pagasa said the ridge of a high-pressure area is now extending across the country. "The whole country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms," it said. Light to moderate winds blowing from the east and southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east and northeast over the rest of the country. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate except during thunderstorms. For Metro Manila, Pagasa said temperatures will be at 35 degrees on Thursday, but will go down to 34 degrees from Friday to Sunday. In Tuguegarao, temperatures will be at 35 degrees on Thursday, and go up to 36 degrees on Friday and Saturday, and 37 degrees on Sunday. Laoag City will have temperatures of 34 degrees on Thursday, 35 on Friday and Saturday, and 36 degrees on Sunday. Baguio City will be cooler at 22 degrees on Thursday, and 23 degrees on Friday. It will go up to 25 degrees on Saturday and 26 degrees on Sunday. Tagaytay City will have temperatures of 30 degrees on Thursday and Friday, 31 on Saturday and 32 on Sunday. Clark-SBMA area will have high temperatures of 32 degrees on Thursday and Friday, 33 on Saturday, and 34 on Sunday. - GMANews.TV
