Suspect held in 73-year-old woman's slay in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines - A 33-year-old jobless man is now being held for the death of a 73-year-old woman who was found dead inside her condominium in Pasig City last Monday. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that Pasig City police arrested Eddie Perona, 33, in a follow-up operation after witnesses said they saw the suspect at the crime scene around the time the incident occurred. Police, citing witnesseses' claims, said Perona was the last person seen with victim Belen Quintos, 73, before she was found dead inside her condominium. Quintos' body was discovered inside her condo unit at Hampton Garden Condominium in Maybunga village. The victim bore stab wounds in the neck and forehead. - GMANews.TV
