Former BFAR Director Asis Perez back in DA as undersecretary


Atty. Asis Perez, who formerly served as undersecretary for fisheries, is set to return to the Department of Agriculture as undersecretary for policy, planning, and regulations.

In a special order dated Feb. 8, 2024 and released Monday, February 12, Agriculture secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. designated Perez, who also served as national director for the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), as undersecretary effective immediately.

His designation makes him entitled to benefits including representation and transportation allowance (RATA), per diems, and incidental expenses incurred while performing his duties and responsibilities as designated, chargeable against funds of the DA Office of the Secretary.

“All officials and employees of the Department including its Bureaus, Attached Agencies and Corporations, and Regional Field Offices are hereby advised of this designation and directed to give their full support and cooperation to Undersecretary perez in the performance of his duties and responsibilities,” the order read. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
