78 colorum vehicles apprehended from Jan.-Feb. 15 —DOTr exec


A total of 78 alleged colorum vehicles have been apprehended from January 1 to February 15, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) command and control operations center on Monday.

"Doon sa anti-colorum natin, ang estatistika natin nasa 78 na po ang nahuhuli natin buhat ng Enero hanggang noong February 15," the operations center chief Charlie del Rosario said on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.

(In our anti-colorum operations, our records showed that we have apprehended 78 vehicles from January to February 15.)

Del Rosario said those who were apprehended will undergo the adjudication process of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

The DOTr earlier said that the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) collected P17.4 million in fines from operators of colorum vehicles last January.

The committee imposed the fines on 44 colorum vehicles from January 6 to 31.

According to the DOTr, violators will be slapped with a P200,000 fine per van and P1 million per bus, while the concerned driver will face demerit points. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
