Marcos names Melchor Sadang as PCGG chairman

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. has appointed former Court of Appeals Associate Justice Melchor Quirino Sadang as the chairman of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG). 

The agency is tasked with recovering the ill-gotten wealth of the Marcos family and their associates.

The Presidential Communications Office announced Sadang's latest designation on Monday along with the appointments of Ethel Agnes Valenzuela as commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education and Asis Perez as undersecretary of the Department of Agriculture.

Other appointees include Rose Marie Arenas, member of the Board of Directors of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office; Eric Arevalo, director III of the Department of Agrarian Reform; Jason Barlis, chairman of the Supreme Court's Legal Education Board; and Jesus Nathanial Martin Gonzales, undersecretary of the Department of Transportation, among others.
