DOLE to hold job fair in over 90 areas

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will hold a job fair in 97 areas nationwide on Wednesday, May 1, in celebration of Labor Day.

“Minarapat po namin na bumaba sa mga probinsya, mas ilapit po yung mga available pong trabaho sa mga nag hahanap na ng trabaho,” DOLE Undersecretary Benjo Benavidez said in an interview on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

(We decided to bring this closer to job seekers in the provinces.)

He said there were job vacancies in retail, manufacturing, and construction.

Benavidez said there were also some openings in finance.

In a previous statement, DOLE said 1,901 participating employers would offer 154,470 job vacancies.

“Para po sa mga naghahanap ng trabaho, ang gusto ko lang po ipaalala sa inyo, ihanda niyo lang po ang inyong mga sarili kasi baka kapag balik niyo, meron na po kayong trabaho,” he added.

(For those looking for jobs, we want to remind you to prepare yourselves because you might already have jobs when you come back.)

DOLE previously advised job seekers to be ready with their resume, diploma, transcript of records, and certificate of employment for those formerly employed.

Meanwhile, Benavidez said that jobseekers may visit the DOLE website to check the venues for the job fair. —Joahna Lei Casilao/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
