Marcos gets recos on strengthening PH airpower
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Monday led the command conference of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) where he received recommendations to further strengthen the country's airpower capability.
In a statement, PAF said its commanding general, Lieutenant General Stephen Parreño, and other air force officials gave Marcos insights on ways to develop PAF's capability during their 2nd quarter command conference at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City
The suggestions, PAF said, aim to ''effectively guard and defend our nation from various emerging security challenges, including enhancing our capabilities for disaster response.''
According to Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil, Marcos was briefed on the recent activities, plans and proposed projects of the PAF.
While not disclosing further details, Garafil said Marcos gave instructions in relation to defending the country's territory.
''The President gave his guidance and instructions on some of the proposed programs to further strengthen the PAF as it defends the country's sovereignty, territory and development,'' Garafil told reporters.
PAF thanked Marcos for his guidance and personal engagement with the military officials during the command conference.
''We look forward to his continuous support in our modernization efforts to become a truly capable, credible, and sustainable Air Force that our nation needs and deserves,'' the PAF said. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
