DAR says 4,000 beneficiaries in Zambo Peninsula to receive agri lands, machinery

More than 4,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Zamboanga Peninsula will receive agricultural lands and farm equipment from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) during turnover rites Friday to be led by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

The DAR on Thursday said that a total of 7,214 hectares of agricultural land would be given to 4,456 ARBs. The allocated lands span the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur.

A total of 4,956 certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs), the DAR said, will be handed out during the event on Friday. Of this number, a total of 3,950 titles will be generated under the DAR's Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project.

Meanwhile, the remaining 1,006 are regular titles issued under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.

Aside from the distribution of land titles, Marcos will turn over farm machinery and equipment worth P15.7 million to 30 agrarian reform beneficiaries' organizations (ARBOs).

Machinery and equipment to be distributed include farm tractors, rice threshers, mud boats, rice mills, floating tillers, pump irrigation systems, corn shellers, water tanks, egg-laying machines, motorcycles, rice harvesters, backpack sprayers, and shredder machines. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
