11,600 military, PNP, PCG, BFP staff to be deployed for 126th Independence Day 


More than 11,000 security personnel will be deployed nationwide for the celebration of the Philippines' 126th Independence Day on June 12, 2024, the Philippine National Police said Monday.

Police spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo said 11,692 personnel from the PNP, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Philippine Coast Guard will be deployed in Metro Manila and the provinces.

“’Yung ating deployment po ay pwede po ‘yan magkaroon ng adjustment, depende po sa mga darating po na araw. But as of today po, ang bilang po ay nasa around 11,692,” Fajardo said in a media briefing.

(The deployment may be adjusted, depending on the following days. But as of today, the number is around 11,692.)

Over the weekend, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced anticipated road closures for the celebration. — BM, GMA Integrated News
