Senate shortens work hours for some offices
Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero on Tuesday ordered the shortening of work hours of some offices in the chamber.
The 3:00 p.m. plenary session, however, will still proceed.
In an advisory, Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said Escudero instructed that employees who are not assigned specific tasks for the conduct of the plenary session are allowed to go home at 2:30 p.m.
Personnel of the Office of the Deputy Secretary for Legislation, Office of the Executive Director for Legislation, Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Maintenance and General Services Bureau, Public Relations and Information Bureau, Electronic Data Processing and Management Information System Bureau are among those who are not included in the shortened work hours.
Meanwhile, Senate proper employees may be allowed to go home at the discretion of their respective principals.
In a text message, Escudero said they will hold a brief session "to dispose of some [administrative] matters." —VAL, GMA Integrated News
