Pasig police taps hidden camera vs cops sleeping on the job

MANILA, Philippines - A hidden camera is fast turning out to be the most potent weapon to keep police personnel in Pasig City constantly on their toes. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that Pasig City police director Sr. Supt. Francisco Uyami Jr had caught several of his men sleeping on the job. Uyami said many police personnel during his surprise visits were caught sleeping at the desks of police stations, or inside their patrol cars. He said he has taken photos of them with a hidden camera, so that they would have "no excuse" when facing administrative sanctions. Such sanctions, he said, may include ouster from the Pasig City police force. Uyami pointed out that he already warned his men against sleeping on the job, and that he will not tolerate them doing so. He said that aside from giving the police a PR black eye, sleeping on the job may also endanger the lives of citizens who expect police to maintain peace and order. - GMANews.TV
