Marcos eyes more ambulances in every LGU

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Thursday expressed hope that additional ambulances would be given to every town and municipality in each local government unit across the country before the end of his term.

''Titiyakin namin na bawat bayan, bawat municipality, bawat LGU, ay magkakaroon ng ambulansya. Hindi na po kagaya ng dati na makikiusap ka pa, lalapit ka pa kung kani-kanino, kung medyo di kayo magkaibigan baka di makalusot 'yung request niyo, ngayon di na po ganoon,'' Marcos said in his speech.

(We will ensure that every town, every municipality, every LGU will have an ambulance. It's not like before that you will still request to anyone and if ever you are not friends with them, your request will not be granted. It's not like that now.)

''Basta’t kung sino po --- basta’t kung sino ang nangangailangan ng ambulansya ay bibigyan na po natin. At sabi niyo mayaman itong PCSO baka pwede pang gawin bago po matapos ang termino ko, baka gawing dalawang ambulansya ang bawat bayan at LGU,'' he added.

(Whoever needs an ambulance, we will provide for them. And PCSO is rich, they can provide two ambulances for each and LGU before my term ends.)

The First Couple brought the ''Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot Para sa Lahat'' or ''LAB for ALL'' caravan in Pasig City.

An initiative of the First Lady, the LAB for ALL caravan is a flagship outreach program that offers an array of health services such as free consultation, free medicines and basic laboratory tests done in the Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinics. 

The caravan already visited 29 locations across the country from May 2023 to June 26 2024.

Marcos said the “LAB for ALL” project bridges the gap in the healthcare system in the Philippines, especially in the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs), or those in far-flung areas.
