MANILA, Philippines - Applicants of certificates from the National Statistics Office will be shelling out an additional P15 for each copy they will get starting May 1. In an advisory signed by Administrator Carmelita Ericta, the NSO on Wednesday announced that it will be collecting P15 as payment for documentary stamp tax starting Thursday. It said the new cost is in compliance with Sections 173 and 188 of the Tax Code and Revenue Memorandum Order No. 13-2008 dated March 31, 2008. With this, the certified and/or authenticated copy of birth, marriage and death certificates will now cost P140 from the P125 authentication/or certification fee and P15 documentary stamp tax. Those who will get Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR), on Thursday, will pay P195 from the 180 authentication/or certification fee and P15 documentary stamp tax.
