2024 Bar passers take lawyer’s oath


More than 3,000 aspiring individuals who passed the 2024 Bar exams took their oath on Friday

More than 3,000 aspiring individuals who passed the 2024 Bar exams took their oath on Friday, according to the Supreme Court (SC).

The lawyers took their oath at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Seashell Lane, Pasay City.

“This day is a testament of your hard work, perseverance, grit, and faith. Congratulations,” 2024 Bar chairperson and Associate Justice Mario Lopez said in his speech.

Lopez stressed that lawyers must embody ethics and its virtues of integrity, humility, service, compassion, education, and technology.

“These are the hallmarks of a morally competent, or should I say, MVL— Morally Valuable Lawyer,” Lopez said.

“It takes ethics to be an MVL because a lawyer who values education, technology, humility, integrity, compassion, and service is the kind of lawyer that the people deserve and expect from [the] #BarNiJLo,” he added.

A total of 3,962 examinees passed the 2024 Bar examinations.

Kyle Christian Tutor of the University of the Philippines College of Law topped the Bar exams with an overall rating of 85.7700%.
