Marcos inspects Isabela's rice processing system
By ANNA FELICIA BAJO, GMA Integrated News
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. inspected Thursday the Rice Processing System II (RPS II) in Echague, Isabela.
The facility is part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program that has a total investment of P67.48 million.
Launched in November 2024, the RPS II includes a multi-stage rice mill with a capacity of three tons per hour valued at P48.58 million and five recirculating dryers that is capable of handling 12 tons, worth P18.9 million.
This facility aims to reduce production costs and decrease postharvest losses, which will later benefit the local rice industry.
This will later translate to better income for local farmers and a more stable supply of rice for consumers. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
