Palace: No info yet on DICT's Uy reported resignation

MalacaƱang has no information on the reported resignation of DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy.

Malacañang on Thursday said it has not received any information as regards to the reported resignation of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy.

"Actually, kagabi ko pa po iyan itinatanong, pero as of the moment, wala pa po tayong update. Kung siya man po ay nag-resign, kung mayroon pong letter siyang pinadala na po, kailangan pa po itong ma-accept ng ating Pangulo. So, so far, wala pa po tayong update,'' Castro said.

(I've been asking that since last night, but as of the moment, there is no update yet. If he really resigned and if there's a letter, the President needs to accept this. So far, we have no update yet.)

''Ang pagkakasabi po sa akin ay kung mayroon mang letter, wala pa po sa aking confirmation kung natanggap na po ng Pangulo as of the moment. At kung mayroon man po, wala pa pong acceptance na nanggagaling sa Pangulo,'' she added.

(What was mentioned to me was if there's a letter, there's no confirmation yet if the President had received this. If any, there's no acceptance yet from the President.)

GMA News Online already asked Uy about his reported resignation, but he has yet to reply on the matter.

Reports about Uy's supposed resignation came days after the Palace announced that the courtesy resignation of Toby Nebrida as general manager of state-run television network People's Television Network (PTV) has been accepted after it was disclosed that Oscar Orbos would take the lead.

In February, Cesar Chavez also announced his irrevocable resignation as acting chief of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO). Veteran journalist Jay Ruiz has taken over as ad interim secretary for the PCO.

Vince Dizon, meanwhile, was named as the new secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) after Jaime Bautista stepped down due to health reasons
